What Day Is It?

According to the arrow thingy on my computer (sorry, don't know the techie term for it) , the day/date is Thursday, October 21, 2010 (unless you live on the other side of the planet where it's already Friday). I have been off a day all week and apparently so have others I know. A woman I work with commented that she thought today was Friday. And one of my daughters thought yesterday was Thursday. Me too! Yesterday I kept thinking it was today and today I keep thinking it's tomorrow. Do you follow?

I think part of the reason is because I'm not going to work tomorrow (tiny "yippee"). I feel like I won the lottery or something. There will definitely be a little spring in my step. After an appointment in the morning, I plan to spend some time preparing for the NaNoWriMo. Maybe sneak off to the library and plan an outline. I also plan on starting my reread of Speak. Can anyone guess why I might be reading this book in particular? Hint: I mentioned it in a previous post.

So even though yesterday was NOT Thursday but Wednesday, and Friday is actually tomorrow instead of today, which is in fact Thursday *taking a breath* I'll watch one of my favorite shows tonight, "Big Bang Theory," knowing that I have a long weekend ahead of me.

Happy not Friday everyone!

  1. I am constantly messing up the days, so I completely follow this post, LOL. Good luck with Nano!

  2. Do you usually write with an outline? I really want to do one for my NaNoWriMo project, but every time I sit down to begin writing it, it's like I'm a magnet trying to push against the opposing end of another magnet. I'm usually such an organized person; I don't get it. What is my brain telling me? =D

  3. I'm so with you! I've had NO idea what day it is all week!

  4. When I lived in California I never knew what month it was. Or season. I'd have to stop and think.

  5. It is now Friday evening here in Australia!

  6. Thanks, Angela! I'm getting excited for Nano!

WaToT - For the first 2 novels I started I didn't write with an outline at all. I wrote until I got so stuck in my plot I didn't know how to get out of it. For my current WiP, Nitpicky, I made one and it's helped me keep on track. I thought about conflicts, story arc, possible main scenes I wanted to include, etc. I don't follow it strictly, but I do refer to it from time to time to make sure I'm not writing all over the place. I don't think I'd write without one again.

  7. kimmyblair - LOL! It's been crazy!

KarenG - Were you in Southern Cal? I could definitely lose track of what time of the year it is. The weather is consistently gorgeous!

And now it's Saturday for you Donna, right? Sweet dreams my Aussie friend!

  8. I hate those weeks!!! They really screw you up!!! I hope with having that special day off that you really had a chance to get NaNoWriMo stuff ready, enjoyed your trip to the library to snag a copy of Speak (which is amazing by the way!)

BTW - Big Bang Theory always makes me smile!!! I love it especially when Sheldon says *Bazinga*!

  9. I'm forever losing track of time! Not good!

    Good luck with NaNo!
