But if you find yourself feeling like the undead, or exhibiting 1 or more of the following zombie-like symptoms this morning...
- eyes swollen shut and/or dark circles under your eyes
- shuffling around the kitchen or workplace
- uttering unintelligible moans that sound something like cooooffeeee
an unnatural craving for your neighor's, spouse's, workmate's brains
...don't panic! The acopolypse isn't here just yet. It's only...
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!
Give yourself a couple of days to adjust and in no time you'll be back to feeling your normal early morning exhaustion.
But until then enjoy the extra hour of daylight today. Here in the northeast, the temps will be flirting with 70 degrees this afternoon. My advice on how to eliminate that zombie state of being is to get out there and bask in the beautiful sunshine, or if you're like me, open a window and take a nap.
How do you handle daylight savings time? Love it or hate it?
I love it once we get used to it! But I hate it right now. actually, yesterday it was good because I was tired, and it meant I got to go bed sooner than if we hadn't moved the clocks forward. But it's completely thrown me off today! And my husband...he's always screwed up for a week! LOL
ReplyDeleteMe too, lol! My eyes felt like they were burning this morning.
DeleteOpening a window and taking a nap sounds pretty good to me! I do enjoy the extra hour of sunshine, but I am so very tired right now!
ReplyDeleteIt's 4:30 and I'm dragging. Got to get through dinnertime.
DeleteUgh! Not only was it daylight savings time, but I ended up with a bout of the flu. So your descriptive list above was actually right on.
ReplyDeleteOn the topic of daylight savings time this says it all:
When told the reason for daylight savings time the Old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket." (Hugs)Indigo
Oh no, Indigo! That's awful. Hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm still having to take Percocet at night after my oral surgery, so I'm dragging in the morning anyway. Speaking of which, it's time for meds. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteLove your zombie comparison. I don't mind "falling back" but I hate "moving forward".
I love the extra light but it takes me a week or so before I can adjust to the spring time change. Hope you're pain free soon, Donna. *hugs*
DeleteWe'll have that in the UK at the end of March. I hate it because I work on a Sunday - and have to get up at 6.30am! Usually it means going to bed at 10pm so I don't lose sleep.
ReplyDeleteIt's partly psychological too. When my alarm goes off at 5:15, I'm thinking "It's really 4:15!"
DeleteYou had me at "Zo-om-bi." You know we to the Thriller when Halloween comes around. :)
ReplyDeleteThriller is awesome! To tell you the truth David, zombies freak me out. I wrote about it in this post.

It's not quite daylight savings time yet on this side of the ocean, but I do like it. I love have the extra light in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteThis year has been brutal. I've HATED it. I wish they would just do away with it completely. I think the farmers will be fine. ;)
